Rat Anti-Mouse Interleukin-3 (IL-3) ELISA Set

BACKGROUND
Interleukin 3 (IL-3) is a small 15kD glycoprotein that is secreted by activated T cells, natural killer cells, mast cells, epithelial cells and stromal cells[1]. This cytokine signals through a receptor complex found on hematopoietic cell lineages consisting of the IL-3 receptor alpha chain and a common gamma chain[2]. Binding of IL-3 to its receptor can induce multiple signaling pathways including Jak/Stat and MAPK. IL-3 is involved in host response to noxious stimuli where it has been shown to stimulate the proliferation, differentiation and survival of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells as well as various lineage-committed progenitors[3-5]. Furthermore, IL-3 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of asthma and hypersensitivity, as well as in leukemia[6, 7].
